Hard-Boiled Editorial Review

Binary by Michael Crichton is an early novel which showcases some of the well-known techniques of the author. The plot is fast-paced and engaging and the details about the character's persona blends well with the story instead of infodumps. The dialogues are natural and not pedantic as is typical of Michael Crichton's writing style. However, the book felt too short and the resolution arrived quickly without any additional twist or turn that would make the story more enthralling. The book is a page-turner and has an exciting team of protagonists akin to the Impossible Mission show and movies. The book is fast, with good characters and an excellent plot and is a legacy airport store stock that has held up well, even after almost 50 years since first published.
