The product comes with a plastic shell that has 3 slots on each end that allow you to run the thread through with ease. The largest measurement is 2 1/8" diagonally from top to bottom. The wax is believed to be 100% beeswax and is very effective in keeping threads from twisting or knotting. Customers report that it is a boon for cross-stitchers and belongs in any sewing kit.
