How many ohms?
Respuesta: I used one of these on a 36V EZGO solenoid. I see a 3 volt drop when measuring the voltage across where it connects to the solenoid so the calculated ohms of resistance is 69. As a side note you should see between .1 to 3V less than the battery voltage if your existing one is working properly. -

Respuesta: Generally, DC currents are hard on switches. The resistor reduces arcing between the contacts, extending the life of the solenoid. -

Is the IPC coil supposed to get hot after a 20 minute ride?
Respuesta: This should not be hot to the touch. -

Which way is this installed? Stock ones usually have a line around one end to indicate the installation direction.
Respuesta: This is a resistor, they can be installed in any direction. It is installed on the large lugs of the solenoid that the battery cable connects to. Your thinking of a the diode that has a band on one side indicating the cathode side. The diode is installed on the small terminals of the solenoid, with the band side connected to the positive post. This is not a diode therefore not directional. Let me know if you have any more questions. -

Does this go from outside to outside or the 2 middle for solenoid?
Respuesta: I agree. This typically goes on the outside posts. The diode goes between the two middle posts. -

What is watts on it? Looking for 250 ohm 5% 6.5W replacement.
Respuesta: Resistors are registered in ohms, not watts. Power is measured in watts. We used it in our E-Z Go golf cart, and it works fine. -

Is this resistor connected to either side of the solenoid?
Respuesta: The resistor connects across either side of the solenoid and the diode connects across the solenoid coil.
