Contemporary Fiction Editorial Review
Exquisite Corpse offers a chilling glimpse into the minds of serial killers against the backdrop of the AIDS crisis in New Orleans. The book is a bold exploration of graphic themes like necrophilia and cannibalism, yet the lyrical prose draws you in, making the uncomfortable narratives compelling. Readers have noted that despite the horrifying content, the writing captivates and hangs onto your attention, as if caught in morbid curiosity. The intertwined narratives of the four main characters present a unique psychological study that is both repulsive and fascinating, raising questions about morality and societal judgments. This is not a light read; it pushes the envelope and evokes strong emotions.
