SDS Romantic Comedy Editorial Review
The "Blithe Spirit" DVD by Shout Factory has garnered a mix of positive sentiments and minor criticisms from viewers, reflecting an overall enjoyable experience. Many customers have expressed their enjoyment of the movie, highlighting the excellent performances by the cast that bring the charmingly comedic story to life. For fans of the play, such as one reviewer who portrayed Elvira in a college production, the film offers a fun nostalgia trip, though some memories of the play may differ from the cinematic interpretation. One notable point of contention is the quality of the subtitles, which some users found to be frequently erroneous. This aspect has drawn some frustration, especially for those who rely on subtitles for full comprehension. Nevertheless, the charm and humor of the film seem to largely outweigh these issues, making it a worthwhile watch for anyone interested in classic comedies or theatrical adaptations.
