Behringer POWERPLAY P1 Personal In-Ear Monitor Amplifier
The Behringer Powerplay P1 is an affordable in-ear monitor system for on-stage performers. It does not have phantom power, so it cannot power a microphone. However, users can plug in a personal mixer to intercept vocal microphone audio and amplify for an earpiece. The unit takes a line-level signal rather than one from an amplifier to avoid damaging equipment. The in-ear monitor works well in studio and live performances and comes with the option of monitoring in both mono or stereo. Users have also noted that it delivers reliable audio with clear sound. Some users have had trouble with the battery door being loose and eventually falling out. One user experienced a loud popping noise when the unit powered on, which they could not resolve. Another user's unit did not work at all when they first received it, even after following every tutorial and buying a plug-in adapter, and was outside the return window when they discovered the issue.
